Bellam Gavvalu is a classic traditional sweet from Andhra Pradesh, especially prepared during festivals like Diwali and Sankranti. The name “Gavvalu” refers to the small shell shape formed using a traditional wooden mould.
These shell-shaped pieces are deep-fried until golden and crispy, then coated in thick, aromatic jaggery syrup to create a crunchy, caramelized outer layer with a rich traditional taste.
